The Parramatta Eels have continued their mid-season purple patch, recording a 44-6 thrashing of an injury riddled Wests Tigers outfit at a blustery ANZ Stadium today.
The Eels never really looked like losing considering the Tigers lack of healthy forwards, with Parramatta piling on 22 points in each half to move into the top eight for the first time since Round 1.
It took only ten minutes for the Eels to stamp their authority on proceedings through a try to Luke Burt, with Brett Finch popping a precision chip kick for the zippy Eels fullback to score off a favourite Parramatta play.
Burt converted from a simple position to hand the Eels an early 6-0 advantage.
Parramatta were in again just four minutes later thanks to a determined charge from prop Josh Cordoba, the hulking forward crashing through three Tigers defenders to place the ball down for a 12-0 lead.
The Eels pushed out to a 16-0 lead in the 27th minute when winger Taulima Tautai finished off a slick backline movement, with the Eels moving out to a 22-0 half-time lead when hooker Matt Keating completed yet another dazzling Eels movement.
Wests started the second half full of running, with the Tigers posting their first points in the 47th minute; Benji Marshall bamboozling two Eels with some quick footwork before putting centre Chris Lawrence over for a much needed four-pointer.
Brett Hodgson’s sideline conversion gave the Tigers a glimmer of hope at 22-6, hope which was shortly extinguished when Eels centre Krisnan Inu crossed just moments later.
Workaholic Eels backrower Nathan Hindmarsh continued the rout with a second half double, before elusive centre Joel Reddy capped off a great match for Parramatta by scoring right on the full-time siren.

In today’s other match, the Canberra Raiders have produced their most dominant performance of the season, recording a 34-16 annihilation of a depleted Brisbane Broncos outfit at Canberra Stadium today.
The Raiders win was based on a rampaging 28-0 first half effort, with rookie winger Justin Carney crossing for two tries in his debut match.
