North QLD Cowboys Round 3 Analysis
March 29th 2007 09:58
The Cowboys are notoriously fast out of the blocks at the start of each new season, and it seems that nothing has changed in 2007. The North QLD mob were white hot last Saturday night against the struggling Roosters, and should have porbably posted at least another two or three tries.
The combination of Bowen and Thurston is again causing havoc for opposition teams, but the Cowboys Ashley Graham has really impressed with his stellar start to the season. The return of Paul Bowman alos stiffened the Cowboys defence last weekend, with skipper Aaron Payne probably the most under rated rake in the competition.
The Cowboys attack may be a little less imposing with the loss of veteran Jason Smith for this weeks match at WIN Stadium, with lock forward Justin Smith to partner Thurston in the halves.
If the sizeable North Queensland pack can contain the Jason Ryles-led Dragons unit, then the more experienced Cowboys backs should again create plenty of try scoring oppurtunites.
