Gold Coast Titans - Luke Bailey
The form prop forward of the competition, the man known as the 'Bull' should be a shoe in for selection in the upcoming ANZAC Day Test match in Brisbane. Signed by the Titans as a forward leader, Bailey has been at his unstoppable best thus far this season, with his perfromance against the powerhouse Panthers pack last Sunday sure to impress the Australian selectors.
Bailey's 18 hit-ups netted him 168 metres gained, with the big Titans defensive workload (31 tackles) only bettered by workaholic utility, Matt Hilder.
Manly Sea-Eagles - Brett Stewart
If NSW's only State of Origin match were to be played at Brookvale Oval this season, than Manly fullback would be a walkup starter as the Blues custodian, given his scintilating form at the Brookvale fortress.
The dashing fullback could well have scored a hattrick of tries before half-time had it not been for some 50/50 officials rulings, with Stewart finally adding to his startling try scoring tally (31tries in 32 games at Brookvale) in the second half.
Stewart's 21 hit-ups netted him 195 metres gained, including three first half linebreaks which saw him cross the tryline, albeit illegally, each time.
Melbourne Storm - Dallas Johnson
In what was a grinding Melbourne Storm victory last Saturday night, the only bright spot for the gritty competition front runners was the defensive efforts of underrated lock forward, Dallas Johnson.
The Storm's tackling stats are usually topped by energetic hooker Cameron Smith, but the Queensland backrower led the charge last week against the desperate Knights, committing a match high of 46 tackles. Adding his 14 hit-ups for 101 metres gained, than it was an impressive personal performance for the Stormlock, in what was an uninspired effort by the competition favourite Melbourne side.
New Zealand Warriors - Steve Price
With his fellow front row enforcer Ruben WIki looking decidedly unwell, the inspirational representative prop took it upon himself to lead the charge against the table topping Sea-Eagles.
Putting his fellow forward teammates to shame, Price was the only Warriors forward to make over 100 metres in attack (121m from 17 hit-ups), in what was a dour, forward dominated match.
