Brisbane Broncos - Petero Civoniceva
The big Broncos prop was rewarded for his good early season form with a starting berth in Friday's ANZAC Test. In a well beaten team, Civoniceva was shining light in a suprisingly beaten Broncos pack, with the towering enforcer making 17 hit-ups for 143 metres gained, whilst also completing 20 tackles.
Canterbury Bulldogs - Sonny Bill Williams
Saturday nights loss to the Sea-Eagles was the first real hit out for the Bulldogs wonder boy, after a disrupted start to the season due to suspension. The powerful Kiwi backrower is just starting to run into some decent form, with his stats against Manly solid. Williams combine his 18 hit-ups (156m) with 4 of his trademark offloads, whilst topping a fair performance with 21 tackles.
Canberra Raiders - Adrian Purtell
The highly underrated Raiders flyer was in outstanding form on Monday night against a meek Roosters side. The flashy centre crossed for two oppurtunist tries, but it was the 19 tackles that Purtell made that impressed, as the Roosters attempted to isolate him in defence by running their big forwards at him all night. Purtell's runing gam ewas also solid, with his 14 hit-ups gaining his side 101 metres, capping off a great all round game.
Cronulla Sharks - Greg Bird
The nuggety little Sharks lock was at his damaging best against the Tigers last Sunday, with Bird making 18 hit-ups for 160 metres travelled, whilst also working tirelessly in defence with 22 tackles. Bird also lokke dot have scored a crucial Shraks try right on the stroke of half time, with video referee Tim Mander ruling a rare penalty try to the elusive lock, after Bird had been illegaly taken out in attempting to score the try.
