NRL News Footy Tips - Round 16
June 26th 2008 23:57
Sorry about the wait!
Due to time constraints, here is a quick guide to my tips for this weeks Round 16 action.
Well, the race for the NRL News Footy Tipping competition’s second crown is certainly hotting up, with the first prize being a 2008 NRL jersey of the team of the winners choice. And after 15 rounds of tipping, Igornodrog still leads this years competition, with the guru tipster out in front on 75 points. eastsideboy (74) has moved into clear second spot and only one point off the lead, with t-roy69, Anth3000 and GIVE THE FAT A WHACK all within striking distance on 71 points. Still a long season to go though!

Sydney Roosters v Canterbury Bulldogs
Tough game to pick given the Roosters will be weakened through Origin representation, but it will be hard to tip against he Roosters given the Bulldogs diabolical form of late – Roosters by 8Penrith Panthers v Brisbane Broncos
The Panthers should get the points on a cold night at the foot of the mountains, especially given the Broncos injury/Origin plights – Panthers by 8Gold Coast Titans v St George-Illawarra Dragons
The Titans undefeated record at Skilled Park goes in the line against the in-form Dragons, and without Prince, Bailey, Harrison and Laffranchi, the Dragons should have too much power – Dragons by 12Manly Sea-Eagles v Newcastle Knights
Sure to be a spiteful game given the media slanging match of the past two days, with the Sea-Eagles capable of racking up a cricket score on their home turf against a weakened Knights side- Manly by plentyNorth QLD Cowboys v South Sydney Rabbitohs
Toss of the coin job here, although the Bunnies are starting to show some form, and with Craig Wing back, the visitors should have too much strike power for the rudderless Cowboys – Souths by 10Wests Tigers v New Zealand Warriors
Which Warriors side will turn up? The Tigers are always tough to beat at Leichhardt Oval, and despite putting up a courageous (but error-ridden) display against the Sea-Eagles last week, you just can’t safely tip the Warriors – Tigers by 10Parramatta Eels v Melbourne Storm
If the Eels can’t rack up a big score against a second string Storm outfit here, then they don’t deserve to be in the finals – Parramatta by plenty (hopefully)Canberra Raiders v Cronulla Sharks
Another tough one to pick given the Sharks gutsy performances of late. Canberra are a different side at their icy cold home, and should continue their recent good form against a weakened Sharks outfit – Raiders by 6| 52 |
