NRL News Round 7 Footy Tips

Warning – please don’t follow the tips below, unless you want your season average to drop!!
Yes, that’s about the gist if how I am performing in Footy Tipping season 2008! I am struggling on a score of 24 for the season – unfortunately now 14 points off the pace in our NRL News Footy Competition!
Please check back here this afternoon for full match summary of the Dragons v Roosters ANZAC Day clash, as well as tonight’s Broncos v Souths match. Also be sure to visit back over the weekend, particularly if you’re a Gold Coast Titans fan, as I will be covering both matches live from Skilled Park on Sunday.
For the remaining NRL fans, I will still be covering the other weekend matches, however due to time constraints; I will be only posting match reports for the Titans match on Sunday. I will be providing short match summaries for the other three matches though, as well as complete results and NRL Table updates throughout the weekend.
Remember, it’s not too late to enter the NRL News Footy Tipping competition, with the first prize being a 2008 NRL jersey of the team of their choice. We have a clear leader after the fist six rounds, with igornodrog continuing to extend their lead. Igornodrog leads the pack on 38, now 5 points clear of the second placed eastsideboy, with Troy69, Anth3000 and yugogirl all tied in third on 32 points.

Dragons v Roosters
Quite simply, the Roosters should have way too much strikepower for a hopelessly out of form Dragons outfit. The Dragons have been playing without passion and direction in attack, and if they continue in the same form this afternoon, then the star-studded Roosters could well put on a cricket score.

Broncos v Rabbitohs
Not many pundits give Souths a chance in tis match-up, and quite frankly neither do I. Souths attack has been woeful all season, and while their defence may contain the Brisbane side, it is hard to see where they will conjure the points to claim their first victory of the season.

Sea-Eagles v Bulldogs
Manly bounced back to form in courageous fashion against the Eels last week, and if they can display a similar resolve, ten they should get the points on their home soil. The Bulldogs have grafted their way to three victories this season, but are too reliant on the brilliance of Sonny Bill Williams. If the Sea-Eagles cab shut ‘SBW’ down, then they will get the poins.

Cowboys v Storm
I have a feeling their maybe an upset on the cards here, with the Cowboys looking particularly impressive in their 48-20 thrashing of the Warriors last Saturday. The Storm only have short turn around after escaping with a victory in Canberra last Monday night, and could find it tough in the sweltering Townsville conditions.

Titans v Warriors
So far undefeated on their new home soil, the table topping Titans head into this match full of confidence, especially give their opposition’s worrying away form. The New Zealander’s surrendered meekly to a Thurston inspired Cowboys carve-up, and if they allow Scott Prince the same latitude, then the score could be anything.
Titans by 12
Sharks v Tigers
Cronulla will be boosted by the return of skipper Paul Gallen, and should have too strong a defence for a misfiring Tigers attacking unit. Despite Benji Marshall’s return for the Tigers, I am still sticking with the Sharks on their revamped home soil.
