Powerhouse Bulldogs winger Matt Utai has been ruled out for at least 12 weeks due to an injury sustained in last Sunday's victory over the Newcastle Knights.
Canterbury club doctor Hugh Hazard today announced the results of an MRI scan on the Kiwi Test winger, with the results indicating a compression fracture in his right leg.
Hazard said that Utai will be forced to wear a knee brace for the next 12 weeks.
The NSW Wizard Blues and XXXX Queensland Maroons teams for the 2007
Harvey Norman State Of Origin Series will be announced at 11am on
Tuesday, May 15.
The NSW Wizard Blues team will be announced at the Wizard offices, 12
Castlereagh St, Sydney.
The XXXX Queensland Maroons team will be announced at the Royal On The
Park Hotel, corner of Alice St and Albert St, Brisbane.
The NRL's Bundy Monday Night Football has been declared a success, with television audiences and average crowd attendances producing record high TV ratings for the NRL.
With the NRL crowd attendance record pushing through the one million barrier in last night's rain soaked Titans vs Cowboys match, figures produced by the NRL indicate a 5% increase on average.
"The success of Bundy Monday Night Football reflects our increase in
crowd numbers and ratings across the board," NRL Chief Executive, Mr
David Gallop, said.
"Our clubs and players have done a tremendous job this season and the
great news is there's still plenty more excitement to come with State of
Origin around the corner and a great battle ahead amongst all our clubs
to be involved in the finals series."
