New Zealand Warriors
New Zealand Warriors coach Ivan Cleary has named Wairangi Koopu to replace injured centre Jerome Ropati for this weekends Round 3 clash with the Manly Sea-Eagles.
Midweek scans confirmed ankle ligament damage for the 23-year old Kiwi representative, with former Storm centre Ryan Shortland replacing Koopu as 18th man for the Monday night trip to Brookvale.
NRL Judiciary
The NRL judiciairy has handed Cronulla Sharks prop Ben Ross a seven week suspension for his elbow to the head of Melbourne halfback Cooper Cronk in last Sunday's fiery Olympic Park encounter.
The suspension rules Ross out of Quennsland's State of Origin calculations, with the volatile front-rower left shattered by the judiciary panels decision.
"I've let my club and my team down, I'm disappointed at the outcome," said Ross after his 35 minute hearing.
The Storm's Brett White was also handed a four week suspension for punching Ross in retaliation for the high shot on Cronk.
Melbourne failed in their bid to have the grade four striking charge downgraded, with White's New South Wales Origin aspirations also under a cloud.
North Queensland centre Ashley Graham will also miss a week for his high shot on the Wests Tigers Brett Hodgson, while Brisbane fullback Karmichael Hunt successfully beat his grade three striking charge on the Roosters Braith Anasta.
Re-Signings
Hot on the heels of the Broncos re-signing of goal-kicking forward Corey Parker for a urther three seasons, comes the news that the Gold Coast Titans have also secured the services of dynamic fullback Preston Campbell until the end of the 2009 season.
