MEDIA RELEASE - Canberra Raiders
The Canberra Raiders will welcome back Queensland enforcer Neville Costigan into the team this weekend, when they take on the Sydney Roosters at Aussie Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Costigan made his return to rugby league last weekend when he played for Souths Logan in the Queensland Cup match, and showed enough in his 60 minutes to prove himself ready to take on one of the toughest packs in the league.
Scott Logan (knee) and Nigel Plum (shoulder) are the two injury concerns for the Green Machine, and will be monitored during the week to make sure they are fully fit for the match.
Raiders Coach Neil Henry said Costigan would add some firepower to the Raiders forward pack, and he expected plenty of work from the returning back rower.
"He had a solid hit out up at Mackay in the Queensland Cup so he comes back in and we move Marshall (Chalk) to the bench at the moment," Henry said.
"He gives a bit more punch out there; he's good in attack and gives us some versatility with Chalk on the bench as he can play out on the edge or outside backs.
"He's trained well and I think our bench has got some good minutes in them anyway, we'll probably run him on at 20 minutes a time and get a solid 40 minutes from him."
