MEDIA RELEASE - Parramatta Eels
Despite nursing a rib injury, Parramatta Eels hooker Mark Riddell has been named, in an unchanged Eels side to play the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville this Saturday night.
Riddell suffered the injury in Friday night's golden point win over Newcastle, leaving
the field midway through the second half.
X-rays cleared the hooker of a fracture and he will be given until later in
the week to prove his fitness.
"Mark's probably 50/50 at this point in time, so we're happy to give him
a few days to get right," said Eels coach MIchael Hagan.
"We don't fly until Thursday, by which time we should know more about how
he's travelling.
Youngster Matt Keating will start if Riddell is ruld out, with Brett Finch able to fill in at dummy half should he be required.
"I'm fairly comfortable with our depth and we've got a few options available
to us at this point in time so we'll be right even if Mark doesn't make the trip."
