MEDIA RELEASE - South Sydney Rabbitohs

Souths

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have re-signed two of their brightest up-and-coming stars with Luke Capewell and Chris Sandow confirming their allegiance to the Rabbitohs for 2009 and 2010 today.

Capewell and Sandow have been the stand out players in the Rabbitohs Toyota Cup side so far this season, with both players earmarked for NRL honours in the not too distant future.

The two 19-year-olds, who are both from Queensland, toured on the 2006 Australian Schoolboys tour and have formed a strong combination in the Rabbitohs under-20s side throughout 2008.

Both players currently combine their Toyota Cup commitments with traineeships at ARL Development.

Sandow is a talented halfback or five-eighth with Capewell playing strongly in the fullback and five-eighth positions this year.

“We’re delighted to have these two future stars of our game in the Rabbitohs camp for at least the next two years,” Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said.

“They are both talented footballers with a great work ethic and they have been an integral part of our Toyota Cup side’s success so far this year.

“These players will complement the likes of Issac Luke, Fetuli Talanoa, Nathan Merritt, John Sutton, David Fa’alogo and our captain Roy Asotasi in the top grade for years to come.”
