Steve Menzies extends stay at Manly

Manly legend and second rower Steve Menzies has extended his current deal with the Sea Eagles for another season, the club announced today.
The one-year contract extension will see the club's favourite son stay at the club he joined in 1993 until the end of the 2008 season.
The player is in a select group of "one club men" having showed tremendous loyalty to the club over the years. He has racked up a staggering 322 games for the Sea Eagles and is the leading scorer in the entire NRL comp. with 167 tries.
Manly chief executive Grant Mayer said it was fitting that one of the game's greatest ever players would celebrate his final season in the game's 100th season.
"Steve Menzies is admired by fans of all clubs and is a treasure at Manly.
"On and off the field he sets a standard for others and although he is turning 34 in December remains we have no doubts he will continue as one of our best next season.
"He wants to play and we want him to play - the club will ensure his magnificent career is celebrated in style and planning is well underway for some milestone events." Mayer said.
Menzies said there was never any doubt about him playing another season with his beloved Sea Eagles.
"I have enjoyed the 2007 season and will savour every game I have left knowing next season will be my last.
"I'm proud to have played my entire career with the club I have been passionate about since by late grandpop first took me to Brookvale Oval.My team mates are my best mates and I don't want to contemplate life without football." Menzies said.
